Disenfranchised grief

Jump to: navigation, search
Disenfranchised grief is a term describing grief that is not acknowledged by society. An example would be the grief a boylover might feel when separated by the government from his young friend, for example by incarceration. He may feel the loss of a great love, while society's view will be that he simply misses the opportunity to victimize the innocent.
