Born in Rotterdam, the [[Netherlands]] in 28 August 1920, he moved to Barcelona seven years later to attend the International German School. He returned to the Netherlands to study in 1939. Beginning in 1940, and building upon the remnants of the Dutch branch of the [[Scientific-Humanitarian Comittee]] Bernard begun organizing the [[Enclave Kring]], the first organization for pedophiles. In 1960 Enclave moved to Rotterdam. It later developed into the "International Enclave Movement" where people from various countries joined. Its objectives were to:

In the early 1970s he became active in the [[NVSH|Dutch Society for Sexual Reform]] and was instrumental in establishing the pedophile work groups within the organization. He was also one of the editors of ''Sex met kinderen'' (1972), the first attempt in the [[Netherlands]] for a public discussion of [[pedophilia]].

Bernard wrote for a great number of magazines set up by boylovers and pedophiles like ''[[NIKS]]'' (organ of the NVSH pedophile work groups), ''[[Magpie]]'', ''[[Pan: A Magazine about Boy-Love]]'', ''[[O.K.]]'', ''[[Koinos]]'', ''[[Le petit gredin]]'', ''[[L'espoir]]'' and others.

of directors Association for the Advancement of Social Scientific Sex Research, Düsseldorf, member of the German Society for Sex Research, Frankfurt/Main, member of the board of directors of
the Association for Humane Sexuality, Berlin and member of the Association for Sexology, Utrecht.

He contributed many articles in scholarly journals in English, Dutch and German including the ''[[Journal of Sex Research]]''.

In 1979, he founded the Bernard Institute for the study of sexuality and later served at the editorial board of ''[[Paidika: The Journal of Paedophilia]].

Fritz Bernard passed away in May 23, 2006.

It is a copyright violation. Including the Show Me! preface is one. I suspect I could easily find more. I'm pretty knowledgable about copyright and my recommendation is to just ignore it, especially since you have no commercial purpose. The worst that could happen is someone sends a letter asking that something be taken down. They aren't going to use their lawyers' time with a nonprofit individual user with no money who's not selling anything. It's not worth it to them. The anti-CPS movement doesn't have a wiki yet. (Currently it's hosted at Mises Wiki, which will eventually go defunct because the Mises Institute's unspoken policy is to neither maintain nor destroy the wiki, and it's gradually rotting as the code becomes more and more outdated and begins to malfunction, an example being the InstantCommons which no longer works after Wikimedia's shift from http to https.)

The way I look at it, CPS is going to have a chilling effect on free speech as they take away the kids of anyone who is too outspokenly opposed to the age of consent, or who admits to having pedophilic desires. :Yes, I wish that were possible however he refuses to take direction, he does things that I ask him not to do. Right now, I can't be around to monitor BoyWiki as often, as it is my busy time of year (which was the major factor in my decision). I simple can't trust him to be responsible. If he would stick to writing about books and other things of interest, I would not have a problem (so long as he did so within the copyright laws) but he has made it very clear to me that he will not do that and he doesn't care what I think and is going to do what he pleases... and that being the case, he is now more of a liability then an asset. The bottom line is that he can think that I am wrong all he likes, he can think I am an asshole, but he needs to understand that I am the person in charge and when I say don't do it then don't do it! I have always thought that User4 had a good deal to offer BoyWiki (and still do) but if he can't work within the structure, it is pointless to continue. I am done arguing, I am done fighting. I simple don't have the time or energy to do it. I have never thought user4 was "that bad of a guy" but BoyWiki is highly structured (i.e. it is not a message board) and the type of writing that is required is also structured (formula writing) and is not something that is in everyone's wheelhouse. Sometimes you have to work inside the proverbial box and user4 has proven to me that he is either unwilling or unable to do that. Taruho's compiled essay "Aesthetics of Boylove" went through many name changes and revisions throughout the years. It was originally published in 1958 in a magazine under the name "About Hypnide", which was then renamed to "Boylove Supremacy", which then again changed to "Aesthetics of Boylove", and finally became "Aesthetics of Boylove (Revised edition)". The contents as well, was revised and augemented many times, so that now it not simply limited to the topic of boylove. It also has high value as a work about unique emotional love in general.

He describes it as his version of "The Turn of the Screw". 
In Little Boy Hypnide...he talks about the development of the previously mentioned erotic zones in children. He believes that is unfair to associate the mouth with only ingestion of food or the anus with only excretion. In general, he argues, children are experts at making any part of their skin a “second erotic zone”. 
In A-Sense Abstraction, he touches briefly on what is Paedicatio. (p.143)

The annual [[BoyChat Write-A-Thon]] was expanded into a full Art-A-Thon, or '''Arts Festival''', to celebrate the [[2005 Free Spirits fundraiser]]. With this event, posters were encouraged to write short stories or poems, record music or submit photos of original artwork and submit them to the BoyChat Fundraiser. As certain pledge milestones were passed, more material was released to the public.

There was also a limerick contest and a pool run by the [[BC Statmaster]] to guess the most frequent poster in August, and many other challenges.

==Boards of BoyChat==
Although the main index is by far the most popular, the BoyChat community consists of several more active boards.

===ChatHaven===
After several suspected [[fake boy]]s began to take up a large portion of BoyChat's resources in 1996, [[Sean007]], then webmaster, created a board for boy participation called ChatHaven. It was the first auxiliary board of BoyChat, turning it from a single board into a community of boards. He removed ChatHaven after a few months because he believed it was making the problem of fake boys worse, not better.

===MetaBoyChat===
In February of 1998, [[Alexis]], then member of the [[Free Spirits Committee]] (FSC), opened MetaBoyChat in order to free BoyChat from administrative debate and to provide a forum for participants to bring their questions and concerns to FSC members. MetaBoyChat was the earliest auxiliary board to BoyChat that is still in operation today. MetaBoyChat was offline for a time during the posting script change over in 1999-2000. It returned again in late 2000.

===The Treehouse===
The Treehouse was started by then Webmaster [[Asa]] to accommodate one-line and silly posts, which take up space and spark annoyance in the main index.

It was originally named The Little Boys Room (or LBR). This name brought much controversy from posters as to its innuendo that boylovers should hide out in a Little Boys Room to have fun. In North America the term Little Boys Room is associated with a washroom or toilet which might have given a rather poor impression on BL's. One poster in particular referred to the board as The Catbox. During the term of Webmaster [[Ford Prefect]] a vote was held on BoyChat to rename the board to its present name, The Treehouse.

The name may have harkened back to a message board created in 1996 by TPKA [[Green (poster)|Green]]. [[The Treehouse|Green's Treehouse]] board was not officially part of BoyChat, but it did serve as a heavily-attended meeting place for regular BoyChat posters.

===YCDTOBC===
[[Troll]] posts, flames, and other submissions that break BoyChat rules but do not endanger the community are moved to You Can't Do That On BoyChat, also known as "the slime board" due to its slimy decor. The title of the board is a play on the name [[You Can't Do That On Television]], the 1980's television series broadcast on the cable channel [[Nickelodeon]].

In late 2001 flame and off-topic threads were starting to dominate the BoyChat main index. Most prominent was one poster with strongly-voiced opinions on how BoyChat should be run. Webmaster Ford Prefect thought that moving the offending threads to another board would reduce disruption of the main index. Ford was right and BoyChat has remained a place to discuss boys.

===OtherChat===
After the World Trade Center catastrophe on September 11, 2001, BoyChat was overwhelmed with political and debate threads which had little to do with boys. During the next few months the need became apparent for another board for political discussions.

On September 10, 2002 OtherChat was born as a place for discussing "hot topics and current events" and it has remained popular ever since. It is currently the second-most-active board at BoyChat after the main index. Indeed, some posters eventually drifted away from the main board entirely and now only post on OtherChat.

==BoyChat Digest==
The BoyChat Digest is a collection of notable posts from BoyChat, published monthly. BoyChat has grown from under 20 posters in the first two days [http://www.fpc.net/sites/alexis/bchistory.html#1] to its current level of nearly 300 posters each month making between 200 and 400 posts each day [http://boychat.org/mbc/messages/51371.htm]. Any topic is allowed as long as it conforms to the [[Seven Rules]], which are meant to keep BoyChat unambiguously legal and protect the privacy of its users.

==Community==
BoyChat has had a profound effect on the [[boylove community]]. [[Free Spirits]] grew directly out of it, and the goals of "security, legality, and usability" guide the internal policies of each Free Spirits resource.

Under its slogan "[[You Are Not Alone (slogan)|you are not alone]]", BoyChat aims to provide a climate for personal support to boylovers experiencing difficult times. For many, BoyChat is the first introduction to the [[online boylove community]] and a realization that they are, indeed, not alone.

Although BoyChat's focus on staying clearly within the bounds of law and safety has helped make it the longest-running online boylover resource, some posters find the resulting climate uninviting and paranoid. These users find new homes on other boards with differing cultures.

BoyChat is run as a Free Spirits resource by a webmaster and a team of [[cog]]s. The cogs
make sure that any inappropriate post is either edited or deleted, as they go about enforcing the posting rules and guidelines. ===ChatHaven===
After several suspected [[fake boy]]s began to take up a large portion of BoyChat's resources in 1996, [[Sean007]], then webmaster, created a board for boy participation called ChatHaven. It was the first auxiliary board of BoyChat, turning it from a single board into a community of boards. He removed ChatHaven after a few months because he believed it was making the problem of fake boys worse, not better.

===MetaBoyChat===
In February of 1998, [[Alexis]], then member of the [[Free Spirits Committee]] (FSC), opened MetaBoyChat in order to free BoyChat from administrative debate and to provide a forum for participants to bring their questions and concerns to FSC members. MetaBoyChat was the earliest auxiliary board to BoyChat that is still in operation today. MetaBoyChat was offline for a time during the posting script change over in 1999-2000. It returned again in late 2000.

===The Treehouse===
The Treehouse was started by then Webmaster [[Asa]] to accommodate one-line and silly posts, which take up space and spark annoyance in the main index.

It was originally named The Little Boys Room (or LBR). This name brought much controversy from posters as to its innuendo that boylovers should hide out in a Little Boys Room to have fun. In North America the term Little Boys Room is associated with a washroom or toilet which might have given a rather poor impression on BL's. One poster in particular referred to the board as The Catbox. During the term of Webmaster [[Ford Prefect]] a vote was held on BoyChat to rename the board to its present name, The Treehouse.

The name may have harkened back to a message board created in 1996 by TPKA [[Green (poster)|Green]]. [[The Treehouse|Green's Treehouse]] board was not officially part of BoyChat, but it did serve as a heavily-attended meeting place for regular BoyChat posters.

===YCDTOBC===
[[Troll]] posts, flames, and other submissions that break BoyChat rules but do not endanger the community are moved to You Can't Do That On BoyChat, also known as "the slime board" due to its slimy decor. The title of the board is a play on the name [[You Can't Do That On Television]], the 1980's television series broadcast on the cable channel [[Nickelodeon]].

In late 2001 flame and off-topic threads were starting to dominate the BoyChat main index. Most prominent was one poster with strongly-voiced opinions on how BoyChat should be run. Webmaster Ford Prefect thought that moving the offending threads to another board would reduce disruption of the main index. Ford was right and BoyChat has remained a place to discuss boys.

===OtherChat===
After the World Trade Center catastrophe on September 11, 2001, BoyChat was overwhelmed with political and debate threads which had little to do with boys. During the next few months the need became apparent for another board for political discussions.

On September 10, 2002 OtherChat was born as a place for discussing "hot topics and current events" and it has remained popular ever since. It is currently the second-most-active board at BoyChat after the main index. Indeed, some posters eventually drifted away from the main board entirely and now only post on OtherChat.

The BoyChat Digest is a collection of notable posts from BoyChat, published monthly. I'm pretty knowledgable about copyright and my recommendation is to just ignore it, especially since you have no commercial purpose. They aren't going to use their lawyers' time with a nonprofit individual user with no money who's not selling anything. It's not worth it to them. The anti-CPS movement doesn't have a wiki yet. To what extent, if any, would you consider [http://wiki.mises.org/wiki/Miscellany:Transcript_of_CPS_Whistleblower_Carlos_Morales_at_Liberty_Fest_NC this type of content] relevant to boylove? (Currently it's hosted at Mises Wiki, which will eventually go defunct because the Mises Institute's unspoken policy is to neither maintain nor destroy the wiki, and it's gradually rotting as the code becomes more and more outdated and begins to malfunction, an example being the InstantCommons which no longer works after Wikimedia's shift from http to https.)

The way I look at it, CPS is going to have a chilling effect on free speech as they take away the kids of anyone who is too outspokenly opposed to the age of consent, or who admits to having pedophilic desires. I have never thought user4 was "that bad of a guy" but BoyWiki is highly structured (i.e. it is not a message board) and the type of writing that is required is also structured (formula writing) and is not something that is in everyone's wheelhouse. ===ChatHaven===
After several suspected [[fake boy]]s began to take up a large portion of BoyChat's resources in 1996, [[Sean007]], then webmaster, created a board for boy participation called ChatHaven. It was the first auxiliary board of BoyChat, turning it from a single board into a community of boards. He removed ChatHaven after a few months because he believed it was making the problem of fake boys worse, not better.

===MetaBoyChat===
In February of 1998, [[Alexis]], then member of the [[Free Spirits Committee]] (FSC), opened MetaBoyChat in order to free BoyChat from administrative debate and to provide a forum for participants to bring their questions and concerns to FSC members. MetaBoyChat was the earliest auxiliary board to BoyChat that is still in operation today. MetaBoyChat was offline for a time during the posting script change over in 1999-2000. It returned again in late 2000.

===The Treehouse===
The Treehouse was started by then Webmaster [[Asa]] to accommodate one-line and silly posts, which take up space and spark annoyance in the main index.

It was originally named The Little Boys Room (or LBR). This name brought much controversy from posters as to its innuendo that boylovers should hide out in a Little Boys Room to have fun. In North America the term Little Boys Room is associated with a washroom or toilet which might have given a rather poor impression on BL's. One poster in particular referred to the board as The Catbox. During the term of Webmaster [[Ford Prefect]] a vote was held on BoyChat to rename the board to its present name, The Treehouse.

The name may have harkened back to a message board created in 1996 by TPKA [[Green (poster)|Green]]. [[The Treehouse|Green's Treehouse]] board was not officially part of BoyChat, but it did serve as a heavily-attended meeting place for regular BoyChat posters.

===YCDTOBC===
[[Troll]] posts, flames, and other submissions that break BoyChat rules but do not endanger the community are moved to You Can't Do That On BoyChat, also known as "the slime board" due to its slimy decor. The title of the board is a play on the name [[You Can't Do That On Television]], the 1980's television series broadcast on the cable channel [[Nickelodeon]].

In late 2001 flame and off-topic threads were starting to dominate the BoyChat main index. Most prominent was one poster with strongly-voiced opinions on how BoyChat should be run. Webmaster Ford Prefect thought that moving the offending threads to another board would reduce disruption of the main index. Ford was right and BoyChat has remained a place to discuss boys.

===OtherChat===
After the World Trade Center catastrophe on September 11, 2001, BoyChat was overwhelmed with political and debate threads which had little to do with boys. During the next few months the need became apparent for another board for political discussions.

On September 10, 2002 OtherChat was born as a place for discussing "hot topics and current events" and it has remained popular ever since. It is currently the second-most-active board at BoyChat after the main index. Indeed, some posters eventually drifted away from the main board entirely and now only post on OtherChat.

==BoyChat Digest==
The BoyChat Digest is a collection of notable posts from BoyChat, published monthly.
