Sexual activity is a phrase which has a (now) very vague and indeterminate meaning. In the past, "sexual activity" was a euphemism for coitus (the insertion of the penis into the vagina). Other forms of physical touch (kissing, touching or massaging of various parts of the body, etc.) were not considered to be "sexual", rather they were either considered to be sensual or merely to be exhibitions of social interactions.

Currently, the right-wing antisexuals and sexophobes (and the third-wave feminists) have redefined "sexual activity" in such a way that the term may be applied to almost any activity, whether involving direct physical contact or not, and involving any part of the body.

This has been a boon to lawmakers (and the prison-industrial complex) as it allows more people to be convicted of "sexual crimes" -- almost at the whim of the prosecuting attorneys - if the "state of mind" of the person accused involved any kind of sexual imaginings.
The term is often used in conjunction with "childhood sexuality" to portray sexual experiences between youth as "age appropriate", innocent and experimental, although despite taboos, this is not necessarily the case (see Research).

In the Jewish religion, a boy of 13 - the approximate age of puberty - is considered an adult. This means he can be counted as part of a minyan (quorum of 10 men for prayer - women are not counted in Orthodox Judaism) and contract marriage and do other adult functions under Jewish law. (Do not confuse Jewish law with Israeli law.)

Judaism, like Islam, and in striking contrast to Catholicism, is very sex-positive. Sex is good and everybody ought to have it, the more the better. Everybody should get married; an unmarried rabbi will find it hard to get a job. Male sexuality needs an outlet; theN the community is much safer. Be fruitful and multiply (though abortion is all but a non-issue in Judaism). Orthodox Jewry is openly positive on oral and anal sex among married couples. See Rabbi Shmuley Boeach's best-selling Kosher Sex'. Prostitutes typically have disproportionate numbers of Jewish clients, definitely including Orthodox Jews. One may be seen in the movie "The Girlfriend Experience".

If you're an Orthodox Jew you can't watch TV or drive a car on the Sabbath. But you can definitely have sex. Rabbis openly recommend it. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shabbat#Encouraged_activities And it's definitely not limited to procreative sex, though babies are wanted and loved. Orthodox and Haredi kids are warped in some ways, but they are happy families and happy kids. In a traditional Jewish marriage contract (ketuba) the groom agrees to keep his wife sexually satisfied. Sex during the menstrual period is prohibited, though this is justified by saying that it makes sex on the days it is permitted hotter.

Among Sephardic (formerly Spanish) Jews who used to live in Islamic countries, multiple wives were permitted, as in Islam.

Orthodox Jews do not cooperate with the police in the case of pedophile rabbis, of whom there are more than a handful.

Divorce is fairly easy to get for the male. This sometimes leads to problems when the husband refuses to give a woman a get (and return her dowry), but other Jewish men will put serious pressure on the husband, including shunning (herem) and violence.

Judaism is riven from within by religious disputes about what it is. See for example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_is_a_Jew%3F

Liberal wings of Judaism - Reform, Reconstructionist, and to a lesser extent Conservative - are dropping fast in membership and are talking about merging seminaries and selling some of their very valuable real estate. In contrast, Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox (or Haredi) Judaism are growing strongly everywhere Jews are found. These sectors are far more pedophile-friendly than the liberal ones.

It is striking how many sexual innovators and radicals are Jewish or from a Jewish background (ethnically Jewish). Among them are Sigmund Freud, Magnus Hirschfeld, Wilhelm Reich, Ruth Westheimer (a Haganah sharpshooter), and we mustn't forget Emma Goldman.

The father of Xaviera Hollander, the happy hooker, was Jewish.

Allen Ginsberg was Jewish.

Jews are also very visible in the pornography industry: Bill Margold, Annie Sprinkle, Nina Hartley, Al Goldstein, Harry Reems, Jamie Gillis, and Ron Jeremy. See "The Jewish Masters of Porn", http://jewishfaces.com/porn.html, and the Wikipedia articles on those actors. And the novelists Philip Roth and Erica Jong. Henry Miller, whose parents were Lutheran Germans, grew up among Jews in Brooklyn.

Judaism and homosexuality
There are of course the condemnations in the Bible, though the ones who talk the most and the loudest about it are conservative and ecumenical Protestants, not Jews. Yet the Tanach (Old Testament) or even the Torah (first of three parts of the Tanach) is not the same as Judaism. Judaism was around for many centuries before the Torah was put together.

David is Israel's great iconic king: father of the nation, shephard and poet. (Also mythical, of course. See the Wikipedia article on him.) It is <i>his</i> star that is on Israel's flag.

And yet he is Israel's boy-king, Jesse's youngest son. Jonathan loved him and his love was sweeter than that of a woman (2 Samuel 1:26).

Temple prostitution was common during the reigns of David and his son Solomon.

See the article "Jews, Sephardic" in the Encyclopedia of Homosexuality (http://www.sexarchive.info/BIB/EOH/index.htm).

Sodomy (/ˈsɒdəmi/) is generally anal or oral sex between people or sexual activity between a person and a non-human animal (bestiality), but may also include any non-procreative sexual activity.[1][2][3] Originally the term sodomy, which is derived from the story of Sodom and Gomorrah in chapters 18 and 19 of the Book of Genesis in the Bible,[4] was commonly restricted to anal sex.[5][6] Sodomy laws in many countries criminalized these behaviors, and other disfavored sexual activities as well.[6][7] In the Western world, many of these laws have been overturned or are not routinely enforced.
sodomy [(sod-uh-mee)]

Sexual intercourse that is not the union of the genital organs of a man and

a woman. The term is most frequently applied to anal intercourse between

two men or to sexual relations between people and animals. (See

pederast.)

Note: According to the Bible, God destroyed the cities of Sodom and

Gomorrah for unacceptable sexual practices, apparently including anal

intercourse between men. Sodomy takes its name from the city of Sodom.

Note: Many governments have laws against sodomy. These laws are

difficult to enforce, however, and many people believe they violate

personal privacy.
Encyclopædia Britannica Article

noncoital carnal copulation. The term is understood in history, literature,

and law in several senses: (1) as denoting any homosexual practices

between men, in allusion to the biblical story of Sodom (Genesis 18:19),

(2) as denoting anal intercourse, (3) as synonymous with bestiality or

zoophilia (i.e., sexual relations between human beings and animals), and

(4) as comprehending a number of other sexual activities, ranging from

sexual contacts with minors to oral-genital contacts and oral intercourse

between adults.

Sodomy is a crime in some jurisdictions and is condemned as a mark of

abnormality in many others. Some legal codes provide penalties as severe

as life imprisonment for homosexual intercourse, even if the relations are

voluntary and between legally consenting adults. So-called sodomy laws,

actually proscribing a variety of sexual contacts, appear to apply even to

married couples. No such regulations are found in the codes of Denmark,

France, Italy, Sweden, or Switzerland, among others. The Wolfenden

committee in England and the American Law Institute in the United States

recommended abolition of criminal provisions in this area, except in

cases involving violence, children, or public solicitation to commercial

vice. This position was adopted in Illinois in 1961 (and later in numerous

other U.S. states) and in England in 1967. In 1986 the U.S. Supreme

Court upheld a Georgia antisodomy law in Bowers v. Hardwick, but the

decision was reversed in 2003, when the court struck down a Texas law

that criminalized consensual sex between adults of the same gender. With

the court's ruling in Lawrence v. Texas, antisodomy statues in 12 other

U.S. states were effectively overturned.
It's been five years since a 14-year-old Alabama girl with special needs

said she was persuaded by a teacher's aide to act as bait to catch an

accused sexual predator.

The girl's life was changed forever, she said, when the accused predator, a

fellow student, allegedly sodomized her in a school bathroom. ... The boy

sodomized her, Jaden said.

--------

The victim, now 16, testified at trial that he was sodomized by Perry four

times at the age of 11. Perry is now awaiting trial on the human

trafficking charge.

deviate sexual intercourse

sexual assault

unnatural and lascivious act

Masturbation is the sexual stimulation of one's own genitals for sexual arousal or other sexual pleasure, usually to the point of orgasm. Children often masturbate beginning at a young age. Visual depictions of their doing this can sometimes be considered child pornography, as in the case of New York v. Ferber.
