APA members are trained in [[psychology]] as well as [[psychiatry]]. Psychology is based partly on [[pseudoscience]], and partly on good {{w|empirical science}} (depending on whether we are talking about ''clinical'' vs ''empirical'' research), while psychiatry is not a science at all, but merely the abstract theories and imaginings of (admittedly) intelligent men on the functioning of the {{w|human mind}}. The "mind" is a function of the {{w|human brain}}, which is the most complex creation known to mankind.
