==History==<br />
Crossroads was started because some regular posters at [[Close Encounters]], another message board, found the rules too restrictive there. [[honesty]] and [[Adam Selene]] urged administrators to solve the problem by creating a new message board. The new board was opened and initially named "CE Free", with honesty as the first moderator and [[Hooked]] providing the graphic design. The board was renamed "Crossroads" in May 2000. A [[metaboard]], CE Comments, served both Close Encounters and Crossroads.<br />

Crossroads proved popular and is still in business today. Its predecessor Close Encounters, however, shut down in September 2000.<br />
