Film adaptation of Thomas Mann’s influential novella. Made in 1971 and directed by Luchino Visconti. The score is by Gustav Mahler, a composer who Mann loosely based his protagonist upon. Gustav von Aschenbach is played by Dirk Bogarde and Tadzio is played by Bjørn Andresen.
