Free Spirits (Acolyte)

Free Spirits was one of many archives of boy pictures on an FTP site started by Acolyte in late 1994. While the rest of the site contained pictures of teenage celebrities from alt.fan.teen-idols, Free Spirits was the only archive not to feature stars. Rather, it had pictures of anonymous boys hanging out on beaches, pools, and so on.

The pictures were "perfectly innocent and legal" (according to Alexis's History of BoyChat). At the same time they were a bold statement of boylove since they could not be interpreted as mere fandom, but only as love and admiration of boys, whether or not rich and famous.

Sadly, questionable material that was uploaded to the site soon prompted Acolyte to take it down.
