''Gay Man's Worst Friend - the Story of Destroyer Magazine'' by Karl Andersson is a book exposing the hypocrisy of the "gay liberation movement" and describing the Swedish reaction to his magazine ''Destroyer''. He demonstrates how "political correctness" can be carried too far, and how certain feminist groups have made rational discussions about BoyLove and pederasty impossible in today's world.

Karl Andersson (a young man--now 38 years old, 33 years old when he began publishing ''Destroyer'') appears to be an (unofficial) [[Virtuous Pedophile]] (actually, more of a "Virtuous Pederast). He speaks of the beauty of adolescent boys' bodies, but claims to never have had sex with an adolescent, and that he never would. He denies being a "BoyLover" himself, and is critical of those who assume that he is one. He placed a link to [[ECPAT]] on the [[Destroyer magazine]] website "as a joke" he says.
:"Ecpat is a Christian organisation which cares about “family values” rather than children, and therefore deserves to be made fun of, in my opinion. By placing their banner on ''Destroyer''’s site, I knew Ecpat would see (as the banner was hosted on their servers) that one of their biggest “supporters” was ''Destroyer''. Très fun, according to me. Maybe not according to Ecpat.<ref>p.110 of the book</ref>

This immediately caused a furor among BoyLovers who feared (apparently wrongly, but who is to know?) that his magazine was being used as a "sting" by LEO, and was a way to harvest postal addresses and credit-card numbers of BoyLovers. Apparently, the author was originally unaware of how LEO twist the laws about [[child pornography]] in the [[axis of evil]] countries in order to arrest BoyLovers. He makes light of the concerns of BoyLovers that they may have been exposing themselves to arrest, but then grudgingly admits that those concerned BoyLovers may have been correct about the dangers. All this on his part shows a certain lack of sensitivity.  (see pp. 78-83 of the book) 

In other words, he seems to have [[drunk the Kool-Aid]] served by the [[antis]], or at least taken a few good swigs of it!

:I believe I read about ''Destroyer'' in a gay American publication. Then I started looking it up online, and actually bought one of the issues. And then I got the book. It raises a lot of issues on sexual boundaries. I think its a great book for anyone interested in gender studies or human sexuality related to sociology. I think Karl Andersson is pretty cool. He is obviously very smart and really ballsy!

<blockquote>"The tenth issue of ''Destroyer'' was published in February 2010. Even before sending the fourth issue to print, in spring of 2007, I had decided to stop publishing ''Destroyer'' with the tenth issue – if I could hold out that long. I’m proud I did.

"There were several reasons why I wanted to end with the tenth issue.

"Firstly, I don’t consider myself an activist of any kind. I simply want to share my discoveries and theories, but when I have done so, I see no reason to repeat myself. My conclusions, for example about the gay movement, are there for everyone to share. My aim was never to convince anyone, but rather to share the ideas I had gathered through the books I had read on the subject. Or, as I put it in the last editorial, “to ignite a spark in other independent minds”.

"Secondly, I always looked upon ''Destroyer'' as a project with a beginning and an end. Bear in mind that I chose to share my views in the form of a magazine because it is, unlike a website, a limited format; the content is held between the covers. In the same way, the whole project was contained between the first and the last issue. With the tenth issue I ''closed'' the ''Destroyer'' project, thus making it as tangible as each issue of the magazine had been. The completeness of it is beautiful, so the completion of the project with the tenth issue was consistent with the magazine’s aim of succumbing to beauty.

"And moreover, I think that when you’ve done something for four years, it’s time to stop. The energy never dies, so I was curious to see what other means of expression it would take when I couldn’t divert it into making another issue of ''Destroyer''. By the end of ''Destroyer'', the magazine had become my main means of financial support. Each new issue provided money not only to print the next one, but also to support me. Financially, it would have been a good idea to continue the magazine. But that was never an option I considered – it was time to move on."<ref>p.119 of the book</ref></blockquote>
