*1809 - '''Tales of mystery, imagination, and pedo love''' - Legendary author of the macabre, Edgar Allen Poe was born on this date in Baltimore, Maryland. At age 26 Poe married his 13 year old cousin Virginia Clemm, with whom he had lived for several years prior to that. After her untimely death, Poe wrote a poem as a tribute to her called "Annabel Lee." That poem was the basis for Nabokov choosing the name "Annabel Leigh" as the first girl that Humbert Humbert falls in love with in Lolita.
*1963 - '''Pedo-pop''' - The number one song in America on this date was "Go Away Little Girl" recorded by Steve Lawrence. The song was one of a great many pedo themed songs of its era. The song was later recorded by teen sensation Donny Osmond, and became a hit again.
*1999 - '''A busy camper''' - It was revealed on this date that a former Anglican church camp worker, Stephen John Brown, 49, was charged with 170 counts of child sex offences in Australia relating to 27 boys aged between 11 and 17. This was the highest number of victims ever attributed to a single alleged sex offender by New South Wales police. These charges were for events from 1979 to 1981. In a previous hearing, 151 charges were laid against the same, covering dates from 1979 to 1998. Most offences allegedly took place during Christian youth skiing, camping, canoeing and shooting trips - which Brown led. Sadly, less than three weeks later, prison officials found Brown hanging in an exercise yard connected to his cell. He was dead. There was no word as to whether the death was suicide or murder. I guess when you have a dead pedo, no one cares.
*2001 - '''Being a baby trafficker is profitable''' - A British couple paid $12,000 over the Internet for twin babies born in the U.S. They were busted for that and ended up in a fight to keep the babies. On this date it was reported that they were negotiating with a Los Angeles motion picture studio to turn their story into a movie. In an interview with the newspaper, Alan Kilshaw, a 45-year-old lawyer, said that he had been discussing proposals with the unidentified studio even while he and his wife, Judith, were confronting a firestorm of international controversy over the adoption and a ruling by local authorities that it broke U.S. law. "I really want to see this movie made, " Kilshaw said. Sure he wants it made. He has to make back the $12,000 plus legal fees somehow. I guess he thinks treating a child as a commodity is OK so long as nothing sexual is involved.
