Events

  • 1990 - A film full of mostly naked boys? I'm so there! - The novel Lord Of The Flies has twice been made into a major feature film. The second, American version was released on this date. This version showed that the filmmakers did not have the slightest understanding of what the story was about, as their modifications to the story were a complete betrayal of Golding's work. Pedos, however, were more than compensated for that by getting to see lots of Balthazar Getty, Badgett Dale, Andrew and Edward Taft, and Chris Furrh. After an hour of watching these boys, no one could possible care about trivial things such as plot anymore.[1]

  • 1995 - Satanic ritual abuse fictions were a global phenomenon - From 1992 to 1993 in New Zealand there was a public inquiry into the police investigation of the Christchurch Civic Childcare Centre. Four women child-care workers were arrested on child- abuse charges one month after the city council closed the center in September 1992. These charges were thrown out of court in March and April 1993. A male former worker at the child-care center was given a 10-year prison sentence for 16 charges of sexually abusing children in his care. Among the charges against him were claims that he forced children at the center to drink urine and eat feces, touched children in their anal and genital areas with needles, and put sticks in their anuses. The children alleged they had been buried in coffins and hung in cages from the ceiling, that animals had been sacrificed, that one boy had been stabbed to death, and another had had his penis cut off and then stuck on again with tape. One of the children who testified against him later admitted to making up the allegations. Medical experts who appeared for the prosecution testified that they had found no physical evidence of abuse. On this date, the Employment Court ordered the Christchurch City Council to pay more than NZ$1 million compensation to 13 workers at the center who were dismissed in 1992 amid allegations of child sex-abuse.[1]
  • 1998 - Let the finger pointing begin - On this date the Canadian federal government and for the United Church of Canada were fiercely battling one another in denying responsibility for the abuses suffered by former students of the Alberni Indian Residential School. Thirty Aboriginal men and one woman argued that the Church and the government were both liable for the actions of convicted pedo Arthur Plint. Plint was at the time serving an 11-year prison sentence for sexual and physical assaults he committed against more than 30 boys aged six to 13 while he was employed as a dormitory supervisor at the residential school. The government argued that it was not liable for the actions of Plint, saying the Church was contracted to operate the school and supervise the staff. The Church lawyers argued that, although it ran the school, it did so under the direct control of the government, who paid for the school's operation, created the school's policies, and owned the school's land, buildings and equipment. Former school principal John Andrews said, "I knew that there was always a possibility of having a pedophile on staff. That's the part that hurts the most. That I couldn't pick out a pedophile."[1]
  • 2002 - "Tell me about having sex with him ... in detail ... slowly...." - Australian high court judge Michael Kirby was openly gay. Senator Bill Heffernan was an anti-sex abuse campaigner. The two came into conflict as Kirby was accused of not merely being gay, but being a pedo. On this date the Australian media reported that Heffernan, in an attempt to prove his charges against Kirby, was "cruising" gay pick-up spots for "rent boys, teenagers who sell their bodies for sex." Heffernan claimed that he took (ahem) depositions from some of these boys about Kirby's sexual activities. Heffernan, called a "loose cannon" by many in the press was taken seriously by very few people.[1]
