Menino Maluquinho 2, or also known as Menino Maluquinho 2 - A Aventura is a 1998 brazilian film directed by Fernando Meirelles. It is the sequel of Menino Maluquinho - O Filme, based on the children's book of the same name by Brazilian cartoonist Ziraldo, again featuring Samuel Costa as the title character. The feature is also director Fernando Meirelles's debut, which would later become better known for the movie City of God (2002 film). It was recorded in Minas Gerais, in the city of São José das Três Ilhas.

Plot

In this new adventure, Maluquinho is vacationing at the house of his grandfather Tônico (Stênio Garcia), an inventor who lives in a small community in the interior of Minas Gerais. His friends Junim (Samuel Brandão), Lúcio (Cauã Bernard Souza), Bocão (João Romeu Filho) and Nina (Fernanda Guimarães) are coming to town to help Maluquinho tidy up the circus for the city's centenary. On this trip, they meet Tatá-Mirim, a small flame that ends up making the city believe that they are being invaded by the Devil. So they end up living many adventures.
