Does Alison count as a vigilante? I think of her as just another sysop who uses her power to advance an agenda, and who gets away with it because the community and WMF support that behavior, in pursuit of those ends. Of course, one of the reasons the community supports it is that the dissidents have mostly been kicked off, and people like Alison and Flyer22 help keep them from coming back.
