Modern Boylover Magazine
Modern Boylover Magazine is an online Boylove Magazine which features various articles of interest to the Boylove community. The magazine is 100% volunteer driven, and is a free resource for boylovers and non-boylovers alike. It is currently written and published by members of various BL Forums, including BoyMoment.com, YoungCity.net, and Boylover.org. The magazine itself is run independently at modernblmag.net, where past issues can be viewed and downloaded.
HISTORY
Modern Boylover Magazine began on Boylover.net (2002-2009), and published its first issue in July 2006. MBM was started by SimbaLion, who was Entertainment Coordinator of BLNs' forums at the time. He went through great efforts to get members involved in various aspects of the magazine, including the title, and choice of cover art, etc. Members were given a set of Guidelines and a deadline for submitting written works. Once members' contributions had been recieved, a PDF was created, and published on a subdomain of BLN. Unlike the 'members only' format of the forums, the magazine was made available to all, without needing to register on the website.
SimbaLion organized the first 3 issues. The first 2 PDF layouts were created by Cyborg, then Vanitas took over for issue #3. With great use of images and graphics, the PDFs created by Vanitas have the look and feel of a magazine that you might see in a store. Underdog took over organizing the magazine in late 2007, and put together issues #4 & 5. For issue #6, 420Guy took over the role of organizer. With Vanitas still in charge of PDF creation, 420Guy also organized issue #7. Issue #7 would prove to be the final magazine to be produced by the members of BLN.
After BLN was shut down, 420Guy decided to finish the 8th issue, and keep all the past PDFs online. With help from fellow BLN refugees Ansset and Audric, Modern Boylover Magazine opened its' own website in early January 2010. The 8th issue was released in late March, with co-Owner Audric taking over most of the PDF designing. The issue is dedicated to "LostBoy and the members of Boylover.net", and features articles from past issues, as well as new work.
