It's sometimes argued that people produce child pornography so that they can trade it for other people's child pornography. Therefore, distribution should be banned, to dry up this market.

What would it be like, though, if child pornography distribution were legal? Then people wanting to view child pornography could easily obtain it without the need to trade images for it.

We don't see people making their own adult pornography in order to obtain other adult pornography. They simply download it for free or pay a membership fee at a website. But if adult pornography were illegal, then probably people would create their own adult pornography to exchange for other adult pornography. Lysander (talk) 15:20, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
