Naakt (Dutch for nude) is a short film from the Netherlands that was part of the series Kort! commissioned by the NPS[1]. The film - directed by Albert Jan van Rees and Diederik Ebbinge - is about an eight-year-old boy who is introduced to public nudity. He gets his first experience from his mother by going to the sauna with her.

Plot

Erik is a young boy of eight years old, who is playing on a seesaw with another girl of about the same age. Erik then goes to the sauna with his mother for the first time in his life. When he arrives in the dressing room, he asks his mother if he really should be naked. In the end he chooses to be naked. In the sauna he is amazed, because he sees many different people who are naked. He studies them openly but thoroughly. When leaving, a girl enters and smiles sweetly at him. In the evening, the mother puts Erik back to bed and kisses him on the forehead, after which she runs off again. At night this girl reveals herself to him in his dream.
