The Republican Party, commonly referred to as the GOP (abbreviation for Grand Old Party), is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States, the other being its historic rival the Democratic Party.

In 2014, Georgia Rep. Sam Moore, R-Macedonia, was criticized by fellow Republicans, including the House Speaker, for introducing a bill that would repeal ban loitering laws and end restrictions that ban sex offenders from schools and playgrounds.[1][2]
