Mass deletion of older posts from the BoyChat server

Apparently sometime within the past few years, several tens-of-thousands (or even more) of posts made to BoyChat were arbitrarily deleted from the BoyChat server. This means that a huge amount of the history of BoyChat has been lost, perhaps forever.

It is not known whether this mass deletion was deliberate, or was simply due to some form of incompetence on the part of the administrators of BoyChat.

Not deleted, just no longer accessible to the general public.--Etenne BLSmileyface.png 22:08, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

What is written here is not factual, it is opinion and it is wrong. 1. It was decided by the Free Spirits council and 2. there are technical reasons why this was necessary. I am sure they did not intend to inconvenience anyone. However, when FS mail is back up and if you believe this to be a problem then I suggest that people write to them and request that they reconsider their decision. --Etenne BLSmileyface.png 23:17, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

Oh. Uh, have you checked:
  • Thread-starter index of all BoyChat posts 2003 to January 2011
https://www.boychat.org/mbc/messages/63900.htm
and tried accessing the posts linked to in the early part of the index? User4 (talk) 23:33, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
What is written here is not factual, it is opinion and it is wrong. Everything beyond the fact that the posts are no longer accessible is not factual and is opinion.--Etenne BLSmileyface.png 23:39, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

Recent decision by the BoyChat administers to make older BoyChat posts inaccessible to the public

Sometime within the past few years, several tens-of-thousands (or even more) of posts made to BoyChat were arbitrarily made inaccessible to the public, apparently by an administrative decision made by the BoyChat administrators. This censorship of the posts means that a huge amount of the history of BoyChat is no longer available, including an extremely large number of posts which had presented absolutely no personal security risk to the original posters. It is not known whether this censorship of BoyChat posts is new BoyChat policy, or is simply due to some form of incompetence on the part of the administrators of BoyChat, given that the majority of the censored posts presented no actual security risk to the posters who had made them. Sometime within the past few years, several tens-of-thousands (or even more) of posts made to BoyChat were arbitrarily made inaccessible to the public...
This is a fact, isn't it?--though the numbers cannot be easily confirmed.
apparently by an administrative decision made by the BoyChat administrators.
Who else could have made that decision?
This censorship of the posts means that a huge amount of the history of BoyChat is no longer available, including an extremely large number of posts which had presented absolutely no personal security risk to the original posters.
Again, this is all factual.
It is not known whether this censorship of BoyChat posts is new BoyChat policy, or is simply due to some form of incompetence on the part of the administrators of BoyChat, given that the majority of the censored posts presented no actual security risk to the posters who had made them.
Again, as far as I can tell, this is all factual. User4 (talk) 23:48, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

  1. See "Thread-starter index of all BoyChat posts 2003 to January 2011." Attempting to access the posts linked to in the early part of the index leads to a "404" (File Not Found) error. https://www.boychat.org/mbc/messages/63900.htm

If you could post to MetaBoyChat and ask Melf and the cogs (who are the the BoyChat administrators), I am very sure that they would tell you that they had no part in that decision and that it was purely a decision by the FSCo. However, it is now the hour for me to spend quality time with my television. have a good day and feel better. --Etenne BLSmileyface.png 00:00, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
On 4-26-16, I removed the editorializing and all that remains are the facts.--Etenne BLSmileyface.png 15:04, 26 April 2016 (UTC)

Can we get screenshots of OC, YCDTOB, the Treehouse, etc.?
