‘Limbo’ will be Ivan Noel’s fourth feature movie, and once again involve a new genre:The age-old theme of vampires will be re-visited in a totally original way, utilising Noel’s characteristic blend of brute realism, surreal humour, and visual poetry, this time portraying the inside life of a secluded colony of child vampires who are, in fact, between 4 and 120 years old. (when children are bitten by vampires, they never change physical state) It will include risqué themes, like a young homosexual vampire, sexuality with confused ages, harsh social criticism, and acts that are not normally seen in ‘light’ films. Utilizing the ever popular theme of vampires, thisfilm will confuse the habitual good v. evil dilemma, darkly blending various fairy tales (in their original cruel versions), religious fanaticism, and take today’s social morality and social correctness for a joy ride, turning it on its head, yet always falling safely back on its feet, ending in a cataclysmic and hilarious blood bath.

Synopsis

A vampiric dark-comedy, Limbo centres around a secluded colony of child-vampires between the ages of 4 and 120, who were all the victims of shameless adult vampires. They are led by a formidable and deeply religious ex-nurse whose destiny in life is to find these ‘lost souls,’ and raise them in her colony. Through religious teachings and rituals adapted from Catholicism, and the occasional visit to local towns for blood, she prepares the children for what God had in mind for them… creation of a new race of men through ‘natural cloning,’ (which amounts to being bitten by her children). However, they are neither the only colony of their kind, nor are they as secluded from the outside world as they think.[1]
