Shotacat
Shotacat origins and use on the chans is similar to Pedobear and signifies that someone is attracted to boys. It is unclear if this graphic first appeared on 4chan or 7chan. Shotacat is a less popular graphic then Pedobear and has never reached the level of public recognition or hysteria that the image of Pedobear provokes.
Shotacat unlike Pedobear seems to have some historical relevance. It's name appears to have been derived from the Japanese manga’s known as shotacon offten shortened to Shota. Shota means Boy love or boys love. Manga (漫画?) are comics created in Japan, or by Japanese creators in the Japanese language, conforming to a style developed in Japan in the late 19th century. They have a long, complex pre-history in earlier Japanese art.[1]
