archive.is is a free service of archive.org available to anyone who wishes to take a "snapshot" of any existing webpage to ensure that a copy is archived on the web. Just use this link < archive.is > and read what it says. Bernie seems not to know that archive.is exists, or how to use it. It really is a valuable service, one which should be used more by us - we who see so much of what we do "disappearing" from the web.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Only *individual pages* (the exact URL you enter) are saved. If the page has links within it, when clicking on the links will redirect to the *normal web*, and if the page linked to no longer exists then an error will be displayed. Therefore, *each page* must be separately archived. archive.is will *automatically* include all pages from the same URL together. To view a page at archive.is, simply click on the thumbnail, and the page will be displayed.

Off-topic: Please inform Kristofor on BC that some (a small part, only up to late 2012) of his cjat site is archived with archive dot org at this URL: < http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://cjat.org/* >

He can click on the archived files in the list which appears that he wishes to view, then at the next screen, scroll down to the "Impatient? Click here." link, and click it (if the redirect does not function automatically). You may make Kristofor very happy to be able to recover some of his site by posting this to BC, as he appears to be unaware of this. Unfortunately, the essay he did about "state-rape" was not saved.

Off-topic: How the *fuck* do I use bold, italic, etc. here? I'm sure it is possible, but rather than spend 20 minutes searching for information, it is easier to ask you for a link to a page with instructions. (I suspect that one would use brackets rather that left/right arrows for the hypertext markup, but then again - to test that by saving/reloading this page is a hassle and my keyboard is currently acting up so I cannot easily do it even if I wanted to.)

It is essential that any URLs mentioned in articles be backed-up on archive.is to ensure that the link does not disappear, change, etc. One link in this article - the one referring to "shirtless boys" - has now been archived at: https://archive.is/NF3i9

If article links are not archived as described above, soon many will become unusable. Perhaps the original link should be given in articles, followed by an archive.is link to an archived copy.

I am not sure what "archive.is" is but if it's OK with Bernie then it's OK with me.

archive.is is a free service of archive.org available to anyone who wishes to take a "snapshot" of any existing webpage to ensure that a copy is archived on the web.
