  • Basically, it's OK as a start.
  • Parts of the translation need correction.
  • Formatting includes tabs - they should be removed.

Etenne - if I say "good" English, then it needs the quotes

But if "good" is changed to "proper," then no quotes are needed.

1) The sentence above is written in "good" English.

2) The sentence above is written in proper English.

  • Just sayin', hey... ;-) User4 (talk) 10:40, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
I am certainly no expert on the use of the English, but "good English" doesn't sound right to me. However, I appreciate you making this entry gooder--Etenne

Yes, the English, she is difficult, no? User4 (talk) 11:11, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
If this page can be finished by next month, I purpose using it for the featured article for May. --Etenne (talk) 12:35, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Etenne - please check these translations (more to be added later)

En dépit de l’hostilité du bouddhisme, dans certains pays tout au moins, à l’égard des pratiques homosexuelles, les origines de l’homosexualité masculine sont associées dans l’esprit des Japonais à l’institution bouddhique.

Despite the fact that in some cultures the local form of Buddhism adhered to may object to some extent to homosexual practices, male homosexuality in Japan is closely associated with Japanese Buddhist institutions.

À la fin du XVIe siècle, le Japon en compte environ quatre-vingt-dix mille.

By the end of the sixteenth century, the number amounted to about nineteen thousand.

quatre-vingt-dix = 90 not 19. --Etenne (talk) 20:29, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Your turn, Etenne. You get to look for and fix my mistakes.

It would have been much easier for someone who speaks French to translate, but at least it wasn't German -- that's a real bitch to translate!
