Talk:Shudô

From BoyWiki

An article Shudō already exists. Also, the accented letter here - ô - is incorrect. User4 (talk) 15:42, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

OK I will combine them. how do I know which one is correct? You would think that the SamuraiWiki would have it right but I don't know? --Etenne (talk) 15:46, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
the "ō" is correct. The "ô" is not correct. There can be many reasons why accented characters appear incorrectly on the Internet - I don't have time to explain them all. User4 (talk) 16:17, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
For finding the correct accents for Japanese words/characters transliterated into English using Romaji, go to translate.google.com
Copy the Japanese characters from your source, then paste the characters into the left field. Choose "Japanese" as the language to translate from, and choose English for the language to translate to. It may be better to put one space between each character.
The result will be:
- the rough English translation in the right field.
- the accented characters in Romaji at the bottom-left of the original language field.
Note: There may be problems with this, as some Chinese characters used in Japanese may be very uncommon (or they may be archaic forms) and Google will not translate them, thinking they are Chinese characters (which they actually are, to begin with). User4 (talk) 16:57, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
I am really not the right person to be doing this job as I have no understanding of this subject so I guess it will just have to be a learn as you go sort of thing. And maybe some one better will come along and fix my mistakes :) --Etenne (talk) 17:07, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
