The Script Monster was a bug affecting posting at BoyChat from the beginning until 1999, when Camper wrote a new posting script. The bug would scramble the main index when two posters tried to post simultaneously.
The BoyChat Technical Committee was founded to solve this and other problems. In 1997 the committee reduced the Script Monster problem by giving an error message to vulnerable posters and requiring they repost their message.
