Prepubescence

From BoyWiki

Prepubescence, or preadolescence, is a stage of human development following early childhood and preceding adolescence. It generally ends with the beginning of puberty, but may also be defined as ending with the start of the teenage years. For example, dictionary definitions generally designate it as 10–13 years. Preadolescence can bring its own challenges and anxieties.[1]

Adrenarche and gonadarche

Puberty (despite popular belief) starts at the advent of adrenarche, which usually begins to occur around the ages of 6 to 8, when a very important series of hormonal changes happen within the young person's body, which causes sexual interest to heighten at this stage.

Gonadarche has been traditionally considered to be the onset of puberty, being responsible for the appearance of secondary sexual characteristics, such as the growth of axillary (underarm) hair, pubic hair, the enlargement of the penis and scrotum in males, and the enlargement of breasts in females, etc.

Importance to boylovers

Homosexual pedophiles (as opposed to pederasts) quite often find that their age of attraction encompasses the age span from gonadarche to adrenarche—the ages from around 8 years old to around 12 or 13 years old—while pederastic boylovers find their age of attraction usually begins around the age in which puberty "traditionally" begins, that is, when gonadarche commences, until the ages of about 15 to 17.
