Ethos (magazine)
Ethos is an online magazine brought to you by various members of the boylove community. It was founded by Kermie (who also founded WEIRD Radio and Enchanted Island) in 2016, and issue 1 of Ethos was released on September 15th of that year. Currently, Ethos is owned by Zoomzoom4, with Lil Monster as Director and FalseAlias as Content Manager. Ethos was first owned by Kermie, but after Kermie's passing Dragonlover became owner. During mid 2017, Ethos was ownership was transferred from Dragonlover to Zoomzoom4, and Lil Monster was promoted from Assistant Director to Director.
Ethos is set to release issues every four months, stating that a release will be made in each April, August, and December.[1]
The name of Ethos was chosen because it is a noun meaning the characteristic spirit of a culture, era, or community as manifested in its attitudes and aspirations. [2]
The goal of the magazine is to create a vision of the boylove community which will allow the reader to glimpse into it and perhaps one day accept boylovers as men who are not the monsters that the mainstream media makes them out to be.
Ethos is volunteer-driven, and almost all of its content comes from the boylove community. The types of content accepted include stories, editorials, essays, reviews on books and movies, poetry, and more.[3]
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances involving the unfortunate closure of Enchanted Island in March 2018, and other staff issues at the beginning of February 2018, Ethos did not release issue seven according to its standard schedule. Ethos issue seven released publicly on May 27th, with announcements of the release appearing across several boylove boards. Ethos seven opened up with an article about the loss of BoyLover.org, YoungCity, and Enchanted Island.
Ethos Magazine released issue 8 on August 27, 2018, with advertisements starting in the boylove community just two days earlier. The issue is noted to be one of the largest Ethos has produced, spanning 44 pages, as well as one with the most content submitted from different authors, with 11 authors being credited for the content. Historically, content for Ethos has averaged between 20 and 30 pages.

Ethos Magazine is volunteer-driven and everyone is in invited and offered the opportunity to submit their work for publication, as Ethos does not maintain it's own staff of professional writers.
