  • 1959 - "Hand me down toys? But I'm still using those!" - Myra Gale Brown married Jerry Lee Lewis when she was only 13 years old. The couple did not waste any time starting a family, as on this date the 14 year old girl gave birth to their only child, named Steve Allen Lewis. The trio continued to be a happy family for 13 years until Jerry and Myra divorced in 1970.
  • 1983 - "Them newspaper boys can write some sexy shit!" - The Minipops saccharine performances of pop hits have been a success with pedos from the day they started. The Sunday Times in London published an editorial critical of that appeal. They said that the children were "lasciviously courting the camera" and wearing "rippling leather wrappings around embryo biceps." On this date the Observer published a similarly critical article. They wrote of feeling "queasy at the sight of primary school minxes with rouged cheeks, eye make-up and full-gloss lipstick belting out songs like torch singers and waggling those places where they will eventually have places? The final act of last week's show featured a chubby blonde totlette, thigh-high to a paedophile, in a ra-ra skirt and high heels; her black knickers were extensively flashed as she bounced around singing the words 'See that guy all dressed in green/He's not a man, he's a loving machine.' Kiddiporn, a shop-window full of junior jailbait? And does the show thrust premature sexual awareness onto its wide-eyed performers?" Pedos who found the show really hot said the editorials about the show were almost as hot to read.
  • 2001 - Why do older ones cost less? It's called "depreciation" - Reports appeared in a couple of different Vancouver-based publications on this date about child prostitution in that city. One article quoted a Vancouver sex-trade researcher named Kimberly Dawn as saying increased demand for younger hookers by men who pay for sex with children had cut the average age of hookers to 13. She said that a few years previously the average age had been 15. John Turvey of the Downtown Eastside Youth Activities Society. said, "We have heard reports of prostitutes aged 11, and even 10. The younger a prostitute is, the greater their value. The johns pay more." The RCMP confirmed that they knew of girls as young a s 12 working the streets of Vancouver regularly. "In B.C. the average age of entry into prostitution is 14," RCMP Corporal Gerry Peters said. "It's extremely rare that a woman older than 20 would decide to work as a prostitute." One area of the city was known as "kiddie stroll" because of the number of very young hookers working there. The reports said, apparently, that searching on that name would show information about it on the Internet ... but I wouldn't know anything about that ....
  • 2002 - Give aid, not AIDS - U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan made a public statement on this date about an inquiry that the United Nations and a leading charity launched into allegations that relief agency staff sexually exploited refugee children in Africa. He said he was "shocked and disturbed" at the news there may have been extensive sexual exploitation of refugee children in by relief agency staff. The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and Save the Children UK investigation centered on reports of sexual violence and exploitation of children in refugee camps in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone. "Much of it allegedly perpetrated by workers locally employed by national and international NGOs as well as by U.N. agencies including UNHCR," the UNHCR said in a press release published on its Web site. Paul Nolan, child protection manager for Save the Children UK, said children told the investigators many individuals, including security forces, extracted favours in exchange for the food and relief-agency services. "Services were withheld unless they provided sexual favour," he said. "The kids are in a desperate situation. In order to survive, they have to make the choice between going without food or selling themselves, the only currency they have left to them." In his statement Annan called for a thorough and urgent investigation of the allegations. He said there was a "policy of zero tolerance for any such acts perpetrated by anyone employed by or affiliated with the United Nations." Some of the consequences of the abuse were pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease, like HIV.
