Events

  • 1564 - Pedo love is true love - Writer William Shakespeare is generally regarded to have been born on this date. It also was the date (in 1616) that he died. His writings have led him to become regarded as the greatest writer in the history of the English language. Among his greatest and best known works is Romeo and Juliet, a play in which a 13-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy fall in love, marry, and consummate that relationship. They have become a universal symbol of true love. In his personal life, Shakespeare's first child was born to 26-year-old Anne Hathaway a month after his 18th birthday. You do the math for how old he was when she conceived. [1]
  • 2001 - Think of the children, not the publicity. - Chris Sologic, a former foster care case manager in Kentucky pleaded innocent on this date to using a 15-year-old teenager to engage in sexual performances. The charges were based on the accusation that he had taken pictures which were not only spread on the Internet, but that became quite famous there. Better A Millstone, a child advocate organization, circulated documents in the neighborhood where the teen victim lived. The documents gave pictures of the victim, and gave his name. A result of the publicity was they boy began to receive death threats at school from fellow students. The actions of Mike Echols, Better A Millstone's leader lead to the resignations of other directors of the organization because of what they called his "erratic conduct and frenzied efforts in exploiting the Kentucky case for purposes of publicity." They also said that his actions "threatened the investigation of the case by Kentucky State Police and endangered several valuable confidential sources."[1]
  • 2002 - Well, it's a start - The Charlotte Observer published a report on the "mystery" of pedophilia on this date. Among the many things they noted were: (1) Psychologists treat pedophiles without understanding its "causes" (2) No one chooses to be attracted to children (3) It can't be "cured," even when a pedo tries to change (4) There are no statistics on the number of pedos in the United States (5) Psychologists say that not every child molester is a pedo (6) Adults who are sexually attracted to teenagers are not pedos and (7) Psychologists say that pedophilia should not be treated as a moral issue. The report also contained a lot of typical rhetoric about the value of therapy and drugs in "controlling" pedo sexual desire, but it still managed to get a few things right. [1]
