January

  • Starting around January 22 and continuing into February, Free Spirits was subjected to a number of DDoS attacks. So far, no person or group has come forward to take credit for these attacks.
  • January 22, the vicious heterosexual murderer Sarah Sands had her sentence increased to seven-and-a-half years from her original three-and-a-half year prison sentence for stabbing eight times the 77-year-old boylover Michael Pleasted on the 28th of November, 2014, killing him in cold blood. The British court ruled that her original sentence was “unduly lenient”.[4]
  • January 28 - In what Police are calling Operation Malaise, 13 people throughout Quebec and in Toronto were arrested, who they described as a pedophile ring, on trumped-up charges steming from "allegedly exchanging advice on ways to sexually abuse children without raising suspicion", simply for their association in real life and in internet support forums.[5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10]

February

  • February 8 - President Barack Obama signed H.R. 515, known as the International Megan's Law‎, into law.[13] [14]
  • February 9 - A lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court, Northern District, San Francisco Division, challenging International Megan’s Law.[15] [16]
  • February 16 - Tom O'Carroll is suspended from the Labour Party but despite the moral panic of party officials, he can't be kicked out straight away. Tom O'Carroll, 70, former chairman of the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE), who once called for the abolition of age-of-consent laws in the UK, was suspended from Labour party in a move that appears to be an attempt to embarrass and destabilize the current leadership of the Labour Party by associating the party leader (Jeremy Corbyn) with Mr O'Carroll. [17][18]
  • February 18 - A Quebec superior court judge ruled that Les Amis de Toutes les Minorités Sexuelles (LATMS), a non-profit organization whose website offered services to sexual minorities including pedophiles in Canada, should not legally be allowed to operate in the province, citing that LATMS promoted "the idea that their sexual orientation is normal and worthy of respect.”[19]

March

  • March 30 - The Injunction to stop implementation of the International Megan's Law was heard in federal court in California before U.S. District Court Judge Phyllis Hamilton. No decision was reached and Hamilton did not indicate how or when she expects to rule.[21] [22]

April

  • On April 6, Faith, which was name of the Free Spirits old internet server and which had been in operation 24/7 for over 10 years, was finally decommissioned and replaced. RIP Faith.
  • April 13 - U.S. District Court Judge Phyllis Hamilton rejects request for International Megan’s Law Injunction.[26]
  • April 27 - Former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert was given a sentence of 15 months in prison for banking violations, which far exceeded the zero to six months recommended by federal sentencing guidelines and the maximum sentence of six months for which prosecutors had agreed.[27] During his sentencing, the Judge (District Judge Thomas M. Durkin) called Hastert a 'serial child molester,' due to Hastert's involvement with several young men while he was working as wrestling coach during the 1960s and 1970s.[28]

May

  • May 10 - Robert Rhodes of NAMBLA passed away May 10, 2016, in Clarksville, Arkansas, at the age of 70. He was an Adjudicator for the Veterans Administration; taught ESL at Inter American University of Puerto Rico in San Germán; received a Law Degree from the State of Massachusetts and a Master’s Degree in English as a Second Language; was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a lifetime member of the DAV.[29] [30]
  • May 27 - Glee’ Star Mark Salling Indicted for Child Pornography.[31][32]
